Bonpland Rum Rouge

The rum was named after Humboldt's traveling companion and friend: Aime Bonpland was a French physician and naturalist who embarked on a voyage of discovery through America with Alexander von Humboldt in 1799. Aime Bonpland curiously discovered the Old and New Worlds.

The name Bonpland therefore fits perfectly to this rum: a rum that combines the exotic aroma of the Caribbean and fine German craftsmanship and noble German wine barrels, such as the Pinot Noir barrique barrels of the VDP winery Friedrich Becker from the Palatinate.

The Avadis distillery discovered in the Caribbean and South America, suitable rums for their Bonpland Rum, which is a blend of rums from different countries. They found it in the countries of Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, Guatemala and Nicaragua. The rum comes already barrel-aged from the countries of origin and continues to mature in the tri-border area in a second maturation process in German wine barrels, where top Burgundy was originally stored. This transforms the blend into a noble rum.

Bonpland Rum does not contain added sugar or colorants. In addition, this rum is bottled without cold filtration.
