More information about Breaks x Majolika Limited Edition
This special edition combines two different traditional crafts. The art of ceramics meets the art of firing. Two Karlsruhe manufactories join forces to develop a very special limited edition.
The preservation of ceramic art and the promotion of artists were among the core ideas of Grand Duke Friedrich I, artist Hans Toma and Wilhelm Süs when Majolika Karlsruhe was founded in 1901. The Majolika Manufaktur, which has since been renewed, has set itself the task of promoting the innovative use of ceramic materials in art, design and architecture, as well as preserving and further developing traditional ceramic processes and techniques.
Just in time for the sixth anniversary of Breaks Spirituosen Manufaktur and the 120th anniversary of Majolika Karlsruhe, we have created a very special edition for you in the 3D lab of the Keramik Manufaktur. Majolika's 3D Lab is the digital workshop of the Majolika Studio under the direction of product designer Fabian Schmid, who also designed this modern interpretation of a juniper branch in the form of this bottle. The modern 3D lab sees itself as a research center for the further development of additive ceramic production. With the help of the 3D printer, it is therefore possible to develop and produce innovative, experimental and additive ceramics, which is definitely not possible by hand.
Each bottle from the ceramic 3D printer is therefore unique. The bottles come out of the printer layer by layer and are then dried and fired. After firing, a glaze is applied and glazed again in the kiln in what is known as smooth firing and finished with platinum.
A special bottle also needs special contents. Of course, this limited special edition is not only visually, but also in terms of taste, all about juniper, because after all, that's what gin is all about. We combine the Breaks Gin Red Tonka with tonka bean and black cherry - a very special taste experience.

Breaks gin
Aromatic time out. Take your break. Our name says it all, because we think "gin o' clock" is not just a saying, but time to say yes. To a few moments of break. To a glass of good gin. To simply letting the day be the day. And because the label "Breaks", once known as "Breaks Records", has been with us for a long time. But the former record store of Harald Reinholz is not the beginning. It goes back even further, when Harry was still small and his grandfather was an enthusiastic distiller. The future Breaks founder liked to look over his shoulder, "I think my fascination for distilling was already born back then," he says, and in 2014 he finally put the long-standing idea of creating his own gin into practice with the first recipe and distilling experiments. In 2015, the first bottle of Breaks Gin is corked - a decades-long passion flows into this bottle, and it flows into all those...
