More information about Château Phélan Ségur 2021 AOC Saint-Estèphe
Château Phélan Ségur is a cult wine estate in Saint-Estéphe, left bank, and is classified as a Cru Bourgois Exceptionelle. This makes it an attractive and significantly cheaper alternative to the Premier Cru and Grand Cru Châteaux in the immediate vicinity.
The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot presents itself in a dense, cherry-red hue. The nose is filled with cherry notes, some plum and initial aromas of cedar and dark chocolate. Voluminous on the palate without being overpowering. The solid alcohol content of 13.5% is pleasantly warming and gives the Phélan Ségur a long finish. Very ripe, round tannins in a relatively young Bordeaux that can easily be cellared for another 10-15 years, but can also be drunk now.
The Phélan Ségur adds a special touch to any spicy rump steak in red wine jus with beans wrapped in bacon and a gratin dauphinoise. Santé!
