More information about Papargyriou Don Giovanni
Very refined, with varietal aromas of raspberries and cherries, and subtle hints of bay leaf and tobacco. The tannins are robust, as is typical of Nebbiolo, but well-balanced and already quite rounded for this vintage.
It will not reveal its full potential until the coming years. It was aged for at least 18 months in oak barrels and bottled unfiltered.
It pairs well with pasta dishes or red meat and is best served at 16–18°C.

Papargyriou Winery
In Lalioti Korinthias, in der Mitte der Strecke Athen- Patras, am Golf von Korinth, liegt das Weingut Papargyriou. Es wurde von Aristidis Papargyriou, Agraringenieur der Landwirtschaftlichen Universität Athen, im Jahr 1978 gegründet, mit dem Ziel hochwertige Weine zu erzeugen. Sein Vorbild waren die Riesling-Weine aus dem Rhein bzw. Elsass, sowie die Bordeaux- und Barolo- Weine. Er pflanzte zunächst Assyrtiko, Sauvignon Blanc und Cabernet Sauvignon. Anfang der 80er probierte er in Patras die örtliche kleinbeerige Muskat-Traube, genannt Moshoudi. Er war begeistert und brachte sie nach Korinthia. Diese Sorte wurde die meist angepflanzte, die –zusammen mit Assyrtiko – den populärsten Wein des Weingutes ergab, Papargyriou Blanc.
