This coffee, which is traditionally ground to a fine powder in a mortar and brought to the boil with water, is served with freshly roasted grain or popcorn in Ethiopia.
The taste of this strong, dark mocha is at its best when it is ground to a fine powder and prepared in the oriental style. It is said to have a chocolaty, heavy fullness.
The "Sidamo" growing region is located in the south of the country, near the Ethiopian highlands. The country is one of the main exporters of Arabica beans on the African continent. Out of a population of around 77 million, around 12 million live directly from coffee cultivation.
