The De Krans Broederskap Red Blend flows into the glass in a deep plum red and is visually intriguing. The cuvée made from Touriga Nacional (78%), Tinta Roriz (20%) and Tinta Barocca (2%) shows its multi-layered side on the nose: mulberries, prunes and raspberries meet subtle spicy notes and a hint of dark chocolate.
"On the palate, the red wine unfolds its fruity, spicy depth, accompanied by a delicate violet scent. Well-structured tannins and subtly integrated oak notes ensure a harmonious balance and a full-bodied mouthfeel.
Aged for twelve months in French oak, this red wine is an ideal accompaniment to strong dishes - it unfolds its full potential especially with lamb, beef or game dishes.
The originally Portuguese grape varieties are at their best in the South African climate of Calitzdorp - and make the De Krans Broederskap Red Blend an extremely successful example of Portugal's influence in South Africa.
