"The De Toren Edition Z 2019 is a harmonious Bordeaux-style blend from South Africa with a strong character. The grapes come from one of the coldest vintages in Stellenbosch in recent years - this gives the wine a special freshness and aromatic depth.
The bouquet is dominated by ripe red fruit, complemented by creamy, mineral notes and a subtle hint of herbs and aniseed. A perfect aromatic composition for connoisseurs.
On the palate, the wine is linear, precise and medium-bodied, with well-integrated notes of red and blackcurrants. The lively acidity structure and the skillful use of wood round off the taste experience.
The wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels (225 liters) under controlled conditions (16 °C, 80% humidity). After blending, 30% of the wine was aged for a further 6 months in older barriques.
