The Delaire Graff Banghoek Reserve Merlot comes from the estate's oldest single vineyard and impressively reflects the potential of the Banghoek region in the heart of the Cape Winelands. The grapes were harvested by hand in the early hours of the morning and selected with great care.
"The grapes were carefully processed and fermented under controlled temperatures before the wine was given extensive time to mature on the skins - for more depth, expression and elegance. The 16-month maturation in 70% new French oak gives the Merlot additional structure and character.
In the glass, the Merlot from South Africa is firm and balanced. Aromas of ripe plum, dark berries and subtle spice define the multi-layered bouquet. On the palate, it impresses with silky, ripe tannins and a long-lasting, harmonious finish.
