More information about Dornier Donatus Red 2019
This vintage was a fantastic year for Dornier, as the grapes exhibited concentrated aromas. This is also evident in the Dornier Donatus Red. The bouquet alone is impressive in this red wine, consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon (59.5%), Petit Verdot (11.5%), Malbec (11.5%), Merlot (11.5%) and Cabernet Franc (6%), with its pronounced aromas of blackcurrant and licorice.
On the palate, the Dornier Donatus Red reveals its finesse and elegance, while the silky tannins ensure a pleasant mouthfeel. Notes of dark fruit and cedar round off the taste experience perfectly. The 22-month maturation in French oak gives the wine additional complexity and depth.
The Dornier Donatus Red is a wonderful accompaniment to lamb or game, but can also be perfectly paired with a tender fillet of beef. For a vegetarian alternative, we recommend rich, spicy dishes, such as grilled vegetables, mushroom ragout or lentil stew, which highlight its flavors wonderfully.
An elegant, refined and silky smooth red wine, characterized by dark fruit, which is surrounded by cedar and liquorice. Awarded with Platter Stars and awarded by Tim Atkin, a wine for true connoisseurs.
