The Fairview Winemaker's Selection Extrano is a dark Burgundy red in the glass and impresses with an intense bouquet. Notes of dark berries meet warm and sweet spices such as cloves and cinnamon, which give the wine an inviting aroma.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with expressive dark fruit and spicy pepper. The good tannin structure gives the wine good ageing potential.
The Fairview Winemaker's Selection Extrano is an excellent accompaniment to mature cheese, a cured meat platter or grilled, lean meat. A wine that is a delight both on its own and in combination with savory dishes.
Incidentally, the name "Extrano" means "stranger", as the grape varieties are strangers in the vineyards of the Cape, as they are originally from Spain.
