More information about Good Night, Mekong
Beer style: Imperial Vietnamese Iced Coffee Stout
Following on from a legend of the Vietnam War that raged between the 1950s and 1970s, the Bad Seed Brewing brewery has created a creamy milk stout with Vietnamese coffee The fine brew is called Good Morning, Vietnam and has recently been joined by a sibling: Good Night, Mekong is considered the big brother of the 8.3% Milk Stout The Imperial Coffee Stout has an incredible 12.5% alcohol content and can therefore justifiably be called its big brother
The bigger, stronger and bolder version of Good Morning, Vietnam is brewed according to the same recipe, but the wort is boiled for five hours longer to increase the flavor intensity and complexity Both beers are inspired by the famous Vietnamese iced coffee called Cà Phê Sữa đá: This creamy specialty is infused by hand and refined with sweet, thick condensed milk To create the same effect in the beer, the brew is made with lactose and then aged on the beans of Vietnamese coffee
Good Night, Mekong enchants with intense roasted aromas, a bitter coffee profile, exotic vanilla, hints of caramel and notes of dark bittersweet chocolate The brewers have skillfully balanced sweetness and bitterness to create a palatable masterpiece Thanks to the lactose, the beer is wonderfully creamy
