Hibiki 21 Year Old is a blend of malt and grain whiskies that have been aged for at least 21 years in five different types of casks, including American white oak, sherry casks, and Mizunara (Japanese oak). The selection includes some of Suntory’s oldest and rarest stocks, including small quantities of malt from Yamazaki and Hakushu that spent two decades in Mizunara—a notoriously challenging wood that imparts subtle notes of incense, sandalwood, and Far Eastern spices.
This bottling is presented in the iconic 24-faceted bottle, which symbolizes the 24 seasons of the traditional Japanese lunar calendar—a tribute to the passage of time required to achieve this level of maturity and harmony.
