More information about Night Shift Vintage 2021 Russian Imperial Stout aged In Tennessee Whiskey & Bourbon Barrels
After their Russian Imperial Stout matured in Tennessee whiskey and bourbon barrels was already a great success in 2018, the brewers at Hungarian brewery Horizont Brewing decided to add the complex beer specialty to their permanent range. The barrel-aged beer appears in the Night Shift series and is one of the brewery's many creations refined in wooden barrels.
It is based on a powerful strong beer that owes its character, wonderful color and powerful aroma to ten different types of malt. This rich abundance of grain also gives the beer a silky-smooth, creamy mouthfeel and its massive stature. The staggering 13.0 % alcohol content will turn your head and warm your body and soul with its fire.
The beer presents itself in a deep mahogany brown and is adorned with a small crown of ivory-colored foam. A seductive roasted aroma wafts into the nose and mixes with vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon and a hint of licorice to create an irresistible blend. The first sip reveals the voluminous body and sends the tongue and palate into an aromatic frenzy of joy, tasting of melt-in-the-mouth toffee, sun-ripened grain, spicy vanilla, oak and strong whiskey.
Horizon's barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout is not for the faint-hearted and is just the thing for fans of complex, challenging and flavorful beers.
