Original Berlin Lemonade

Fassbrause was invented in Berlin over 100 years ago. For a long time, it was the standard drink in Berlin's corner pubs, clubhouses and restaurants. Hardly any other drink is as closely associated with Berlin as Fassbrause. We have now added caffeine to the original ingredients from back then - to bring it into the 21st century, so to speak.

Fassbrause was invented in Berlin over 100 years ago. We are now working to bring it back to Berlin's beverage menus.

More than 100 years ago, Fassbrause was invented by a chemist who didn't want his young son to drink beer. To create a substitute, he mixed a lemonade for him from malt, herbs, licorice, apple and lemon juice concentrate. When tapped from a keg, it produced a head of foam, making it look very similar to a beer. As Fassbrause, the mixture then became popular in Berlin's clubhouses, pubs and taverns - and was thus an integral part of Berlin's culture.

However, many of Berlin's corner pubs have since disappeared, and with them, for the most part, the Fassbrause. We are now working to make it a part of Berlin culture again.
