More information about Breitenlesau winter beer
Even though the Upper Franconian village of Breitenlesau is hardly known to anyone outside of Bayreuth and the surrounding area, the beer world has heard of it. This is due to the work of Krug-Bräu, which is based in Breitenlesau. Head brewer Konrad Krug is part brewer, part artist and his tasteful creations have long since delighted more than just the 500 souls of his small community. Word of Breitenlesau's excellent beer has spread throughout the beer scene and is now even sold internationally.
Every year, fans of the brewery look forward to a seasonal beer treat: just in time for the first cold, darker days at the end of October, the brewery releases its fine Breitenlesau winter beer. Konrad Krug has gathered all his creative inspiration to put the finishing touches to a true classic from his brewery and has created a beer with a velvety-soft mouthfeel, a wonderful variety of malts and subtle fruit accents that is perfect for the cooler months of the year. The winter beer sweetens the gray days of November, comforts you through the constant rain and low-hanging clouds and makes the festive Advent season that little bit more festive.
The Breitenlesau winter beer flows into the glass in a strong chestnut brown color and has a small crown of white foam on its shimmering red body. The aroma and taste are dominated by tasty malts.
