More information about Lanzerac Le Général 2021
The Lanzerac Le Général is a limited barrel selection of the best red wines of the vintage. This powerful cuvée opens with seductive notes of vanilla and nutmeg, before an intense aromatic interplay of dark berries, plums and blackcurrants unfolds on the palate. Dark chocolate and fine smoky notes are carried by velvety, powerful tannins and lead into an endless, impressive finish.
The Lanzerac Le Général is a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (63%), Merlot (22%), Malbec (10%) and Petit Verdot (5%), matured for 20 months in French oak - an ideal accompaniment to roast beef with herb and pepper crust, braised shoulder of lamb with fennel and orange or a refined chocolate dessert with liquid fondant, cocoa sorbet, white chocolate mousse and cherries. Incidentally, the name of the wine is reminiscent of the general named Lanzerac, a good friend of Elizabeth Katherina English, who named her winery after him.
