More information about L’Art de Lager
Brewing a good lager is an art in itself In the past, breweries were only able to produce this style in winter The production of bottom-fermented beer requires cool temperatures, which before the invention of refrigeration machines could only be guaranteed in the months between September and April However, due to its excellent shelf life, the specialty could rest in the cellar until the following autumn without losing quality and taste
Although the French brewery Les Intenables has a penchant for creative craft beers, it has not turned its back on the classics A traditional pilsner tastes just as good to them as a sour beer with cinnamon and tangerine Together with their colleagues from the French brewery Fauve, the team has come up with an Italian pilsner that packs a punch: Their Mediterranean interpretation of the original beer is cold-hopped with two different hop varieties and aged for 8 weeks before leaving the brewery The creation is unfiltered and unpasteurized The result has a pleasant 5.4% alcohol content and a manageable 26 bitter units Their Italian Pilsener is a successful symbiosis of traditional craftsmanship and modern ideas
The work is aptly titled L'Art de Lager (the art of lagering) and tastes intensely of fruity hops and sunny citrus fruit
