More information about Lindemans Framboise
The Belgian lambic beer style is a very special beer specialty that might seem strange to German beer drinkers. Lambic beers are fermented spontaneously and are usually further processed. Geuze, Kriek and other sour beers are based on lambic beers. The Belgian brewery Lindemans has specialized in this unusual beer style and produces excellent beers.
Their Framboise is a Geuze, which is a blend of various other Geuzes. After the brewing process, a raspberry concentrate is mixed into the beer. The result is a refreshing fruit beer that tastes heavenly like freshly picked raspberries and long summer afternoons in grandma's garden.
Lindemans Framboise has a wonderfully fresh copper red color with pink reflections that sparkle beautifully when the light hits it. A pink foam crowns this extraordinary beer. As soon as it is poured, Framboise delights with the stunning aroma of fresh raspberries. If you close your eyes, you will think you are smelling a handful of raspberries that have just been picked. As expected, the fruit beer is sweet on the tongue. A truckload of raspberries hits the palate and pampers the taste buds with a tangy sweetness that is accompanied and balanced by a pleasant fruit acidity. Fans of bitter pilsners will not get their money's worth here, as the hops remain very much in the background. There is a subtle floral note and a barely perceptible hint of bitterness, but the dominant sweetness of the raspberry clearly drowns out these impressions.
Lindemans Framboise is a raspberry delight for warm summer days and winter days when you really miss summer.
