In Bavaria, barbecuing is more than just the preparation of food. Barbecuing is a passion, a hobby, a way of life!
The brewers at the Maisel & Friends brewery in Bayreuth count themselves among the friends of barbecuing and have been indulging their enthusiasm with a special series since 2020: every year, a new beer is released under the name BrewBQ. To give the brewing project the full barbecue flair, the brewers collaborate with expert barbecue masters.
BrewBQ is now in its third round with the juicy Amber Lager. The collaboration partner was Thorsten Brandenburg: the barbecue enthusiast from the Lower Rhine is not only the author of the barbecue blog bbqpit.de, but also the 2017 Barbecue World Champion. Just the right man for a beer that complements barbecued food with harmonious flavors.
The beer, which was created in collaboration with Thorsten, is an amber lager that lives up to its name with a wonderfully bright amber color. A crown of creamy foam rises from the delicately cloudy body, exuding a tantalizing aroma.
Notes of sun-kissed grain, spicy blossom honey, crunchy bread crust and juicy orange run like a red thread through the aroma and taste. The golden lager is characterized by its drinkable character and delicately balanced aromas - perfect as a refreshment before, during and after a barbecue!
