More information about Maisel & Friends Wheat IPA

Sun in a glass.

Formerly called Citrilla, the wheat IPA has a new name but still delights with the same tropical fruitiness as before.

Those who fear that, with all the joy of experimentation, the classic beer styles will be lost can rest assured: Maisel & Friends Brewery is setting a good example by testing new, modern styles without forgetting its roots. Innovation and tradition go hand in hand here. Don't you believe it? We've got some airtight proof right here.

The Weizen IPA from Maisel & Friends is, as the name suggests, no ordinary craft beer; rather, it can be seen as a crossover of classic wheat and modern IPA. Golden yellow and with a firm, white foam crown, the light beer presents itself and already smells fruity-fresh of banana, pineapple and lime when opening the bottle.

The first impression is confirmed on the palate: the wheat IPA is virtually a liquid fruit salad. A wave of fresh fruit rolls over the taste buds and delights with juicy aromas of citrus, mango and pineapple. A delicate acidity accompanies the fruity-fresh hop aroma. Tanginess and refreshing character deny the alcohol content of seven percent, but in the aftertaste this can no longer hide.

A small note: Even though Maisel & Friends' Wheat Pale Ale tastes like a whole fruit basket, it still won't cover your daily vitamin C requirement.

Maisel & Friends

Anyone who drinks craft beer has almost certainly stumbled across this name at some point. Hardly anyone on the scene is as experimental, open, and unbiased as Jeff Maisel, the mastermind behind Maisel & Friends. This must be due to his origins, because Jeff is half American and a Californian beach boy through and through: always in a good mood, ultra friendly and on a first-name basis with everyone. Jeff is the dazzling center of his own brewery and the initiator behind numerous collaboration brews. Maisel's mission Jeff is not only a passionate brewer, in addition to brewing outstanding beers, he also wants to be a trailblazer for the craft beer movement in Germany. Creative, flavorful beers of excellent craft quality are to become genuine alternatives to industrially produced beers, and Maisel & Friends is to play a significant role in this quest. In the future, beer lovers should...
