More information about Muratie Ansela van de Caab 2019
Rich and velvety - that is the Muratie Ansela van de Caab. If you like a red wine that has a lot to say, you will enjoy this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (59%), Merlot (20%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Petit Verdot (6%). Concentrated aromas of dark fruits like black currants are underpinned by herbs, sandalwood and cigar box, while nuances of olives provide a savory note. Well-integrated tannins give the red wine, aged for twenty-two months in French oak, a pleasant mouthfeel that lingers on the palate. Enjoy Muratie Ansela van de Caab best with hearty dishes, game or dark meat. This red wine, full of character, is reminiscent of an equally strong woman: Ansela was born a slave and fell in love with Laurens Camphor as a young woman, but was released from captivity years later and was able to live in freedom on Muratie with him and their children together.
