In particularly good years, the Muratie wine estate produces the Muratie Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve from grapes from a single vineyard on the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch. This full-bodied and opulent red wine impresses with its structure and balance as well as its intense fruit, with aromas of blackberries, currants and plums. The spice and oak notes are wonderfully integrated and make this red wine, which has matured for 22 months in French oak, a real treat for the palate. Whether enjoyed on its own or with dark meat or game dishes, the Muratie Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve is always a delight.
