More information about Nienke
The Flügge brewery is known for its crazy beer experiments It is one of the few breweries that dares to experiment with wild yeasts Another of the brewery's hobbyhorses is crazy beer creations, such as beer-wine hybrids or beers in combination with different fruits In all their creations, they focus a lot on regionality For example, the fruit for their latest beer comes from the Vordertaunus region, which is within easy reach of the brewery in Frankfurt am Main
One of Flügge's new beers goes by the name of Nienke and is a fruited sour ale The mildly sour fermented beer was brewed in late summer and had time to mature on local plums in the fall and winter until it was bottled in spring Nienke flows in a reddish, Nienke flows into the glass in a reddish, cloudy color with a gentle foam and smells wonderfully of plums The taste is also convincing with the light acidity and the taste of plums as well as gentle cinnamon notes - yet it is not too sweet The hop and malt notes are gently perceptible Despite the light body, the sour ale tastes very full-bodied Nienke definitely has what it takes to become a real summer beer
