Contacting our organic Piedmontese farmer was not easy: despite multiple calls and emails, nothing came back. When we translated the e-mails into Italian, everything went very quickly - so it was only the language barrier. He couldn't do anything with English. And what luck: It is well known that the hazelnuts from this region of northern Italy are among the best in the world, and we were able to discover this as well.
After a long and complex roasting process in our factory, maceration and slow distillation, we were able to taste an unadulterated hazelnut spirit with an incomparable aroma, the likes of which we have never seen before: the nutty notes are accompanied by fine roasted aromas and slightly sweet hints, which are integrated into a slightly buttery and fatty consistency that is very soft in the mouth and in the finish. And all this without any further beautifying additives or barrel aging, as is too often used with this product. Because apart from water to reduce to drinking strength, nothing adulterating is added to our spirit before and after distillation.
Its main aroma component is filbertone (5-methylhept-2-en-4-one), the smell of which is perceived even in the smallest quantities. Here we say only: wohl bekomm's - whether pure, with dessert or in a cocktail!
