Icelandic Gin was created in honor of the Icelandic explorer Eggert Ólafsson. In 1772, Ólafsson recounted his adventures across volcanoes, stormy waterfalls to glaciers and geysers.

His paths led him through the untamed tundra. He met as many people as he could (in the case of Iceland - rather few). Icelandic Gin was inspired by Ólafsson's journey of exploration and his love for the land.

Tasting Notes

Ólafsson Icelandic Gin starts off clear and crisp. The gin is based on classic grain and juniper botanicals. Complex floral and citrus notes are then expressed. These are surrounded by earthy spices as well as a hint of fresh sea air.

A delightfully creamy mouthfeel diminishes the bitterness from the nutty angelica. Arctic thyme, mountain moss and birch give Icelandic Gin its unique Icelandic character. These botanicals carry through to the rounded, long-lasting finish.

Icelandic Gin is rounded out with lava-filtered Icelandic water. This pristine, crystal clear water gives the gin its silky texture. In addition, it convinces with a remarkable smoothness.
