More information about Orca Brau Sisu

Sisu is something we could all have used in 2020. The Finnish term describes the way Finns endure events with almost stoic calm and unwavering patience. The Finnish landscape is rugged and wild, as is the climate, and the inhabitants are also said to have these characteristics. If you believe the clichés, then the Finns are tough, have stamina for four and are hard to rattle. Their character is summed up in one word: Sisu.

The Franconian brewery Orca can identify wonderfully with the Finnish attitude to life and has therefore packaged it in a beer. Sisu is a Baltic Porter with a strong 9.0% alcohol content and a whole truckload of fine spicy aromas. The powerful porter flows into the glass in dark mahogany and carries a fine-pored crown of hazelnut-brown foam on its opaque body. The foam evaporates quite quickly, leaving room for an olfactory spectacle: seductive notes of chocolate, cocoa beans and roasted malt invite you to take your first sip. The first sip reveals what the nose already suspected: a full-bodied beer with a velvety-soft mouthfeel and diverse flavor nuances. Roasted malt caresses the palate and combines with aromas of melt-in-the-mouth chocolate, roasted nuts and a hint of coffee to create an irresistible blend. A subtle bitterness provides an elegant undertone and skilfully rounds off the sweet interplay of aromas.

Orca brew

For more than three years, Nuremberg's pleasure landscape has been enriched by an attraction: Orca Brau opened its doors in 2017 and has since enriched the German beer landscape with craft-brewed beer specialties. From writing about beer to brewing beer The head, heart and hand behind the "Orca Brau" company is Felix vom Endt. The young, wild brewer had a rather unusual start in the illustrious world of beer. Like all his fellow brewers, Felix has always enjoyed drinking beer. Unlike the others, however, he not only drank it, but also wrote about it. Felix founded one of the first beer blogs in Germany and tested himself with wit and thirst through the offer in German beer shelves. At some point, his professional interest in drinking led him to start his first attempts at the kettle. At home at the stove, the future brewer's first creations were born. However, before his career at...
