More information about Pfister Schwarzer Keller Öko
The brewery history of Pfister Brau.Kult(ur) began with a happy occasion. Johann Georg Pfister married his beloved Magdalena on March 5, 1848 and thus married into a family of innkeepers. Legend has it that the new husband started brewing on the same day. Beer had been served in his in-laws' house since 1612 - a tradition that could now be continued with home-brewed beer. In order to be able to cool his freshly brewed beer, Georg dug the so-called Black Cellar behind the house. His son took over the brewery after his death and several more generations of Pfisters were to follow. To this day, the Pfister family is at the head of the brewery and continues the legacy of Georg and Magdalena. His brown beer is still available.
To celebrate the brewery's 150th anniversary in 1998, the classic was reinterpreted. As the Pfisters were one of the first in Germany to convert their business to organic in 1994, their dark beer was naturally also produced using raw materials from organic farming. The beer was named after the Black Cellar, where good beer was matured and cooled back in the 19th century. This malty delicacy is the perfect celebratory beer for an anniversary and still tastes wonderful today.
