In a clear ruby to garnet red, the Plaisir Plaisir Red Blend appears in the glass and seduces with an inviting aroma of ripe fruit. Blueberry jam, stewed plums and stewed berries characterize the bouquet, rounded off by a hint of fresh mint, which gives the wine a special freshness.
"The cuvée of Malbec (34%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Petit Verdot (19%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Merlot (7%) is medium-bodied, fruity and velvety. The 16 to 22 months of ageing in French oak (new to third-use barrels) give the wine structure, depth and soft tannins. The stewed fruit aromas continue on the palate, accompanied by a harmonious mouthfeel and fine spice.
Versatile, this red wine goes perfectly with hearty dishes such as braised lamb, fillet of beef or a spicy mushroom pan. It also shows its full class with ripened hard cheese or simply on its own in good company.
A stylish all-rounder with South African character - balanced, accessible and multi-layered.
