12 meticulously selected botanicals, carefully distilled by hand in small batches, result with a fruity-complex aroma the essence of our city: the Gießen Dry Gin - inspired by Liebig and awarded many times for its excellent taste.
Botanicals and Taste
In a meticulous search for the perfect taste, we have chosen ingredients that characterize our Central Hessian homeland and have been with us since childhood.
In addition to juniper berry, we particularly emphasize the wonderful fruit combination of apple and rhubarb in Gießen Dry Gin and refine it florally with elegant hibiscus blossom as well as eight other exquisitely supporting botanicals.
This creates a unique flavor profile that appeals to gin lovers and novices alike: fruity-complex on the nose, soft and slightly spicy on the palate, and aromatic and long on the finish.
Distillation process
Gießen Dry Gin is carefully handcrafted according to our own recipe in central Hesse - in one of the oldest distilleries in the world. All ingredients are of natural origin and are first macerated for a while in neutral alcohol. Then the mixture is gently heated in a copper pot and finely distilled in a single-batch process in small batches (maximum 1,500 bottles) by people with a lot of ambition and love for high-quality spirits.
Inspired by Liebig
GI-N is dedicated to the world-famous chemist and best-known citizen of our city - Justus Liebig. His research, development and teaching in Giessen produced many innovations that changed the world permanently: Meat extract, silver level, mineral fertilizer, baking powder and improved elemental analysis, are just a few of them. Our bottle shape and many design elements therefore refer to Liebig and pay homage to him and his work.

How it all began Our journey began on New Year's Eve 2016, when in the early hours of the following morning, with a gin & tonic in our hands, the idea and decision to create our own GI-N matured. Not all ideas that develop in such moments ever reach implementation.... We, however, held on to this passionate liquor idea and through exciting gin distilling seminars, months of full-length recipe development and a lot of love for design, released the Gießen Dry Gin...
