If we've whetted your appetite for a big slice of carrot cake, then you've come to the right place! Although we don't stock oven-fresh cakes, we do have a beer that comes pretty close to the taste of carrot cake: Room 1742 from Braukollektiv Freiburg
For their latest creation, the brewers have teamed up with their friends from Freigeist Bierkultur and Straßenbräu to transport the carrot cake into the beer bottle The beer style of their choice is a Gose This old German variety shines with a fine acidity and a slim, refreshing character alongside hops, In addition to hops, malt and yeast, the brewers used carrots and ginger to give their Gose that little bit extra The result is a fresh beer in bright carrot orange It smells of grated carrots, spicy ginger and delicate citrus fruit The taste of Room 1742 scores with the aroma of oven-fresh carrot cake: Warm spices, a hint of ginger spiciness and the tangy acidity of lemon zest Fine!
