The Meerlust Merlot sparkles ruby red in the glass, turning a beautiful purple at the rim. The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe plums and dark cherries that are characteristic of the grape variety, accompanied by dried herbs and oak notes. The Meerlust Merlot, which has been refined with a little Petit Verdot (8%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), reveals its complex character on the palate: a fine acidity, soft tannins and notes of cherry tobacco ensure a multi-layered taste experience. This elegant red wine, which has matured in oak for eighteen months, is best enjoyed on its own. Dishes with cheese, dark meat or game are also a good choice with Meerlust Merlot.
