The Meerlust Rubicon presents itself in a dark color with an almost violet shimmer. The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Merlot (40%), Cabernet Franc (12%) and Petit Verdot (4%) already impresses on the nose with its unmistakable bouquet: violets, ripe plums, subtle hints of cedar wood and fennel meet intense spicy nuances. Typical licorice notes harmoniously round off the aromas and underline the complexity of this wine.

The Meerlust Rubicon is still youthful and intense on the palate. The wine impresses with a full body and a clear structure that impresses with the freshness of dark fruits and rounded tannins. The harmoniously integrated oak notes lend additional depth and elegance to the red wine, which has matured for eighteen months in oak.
