More information about Kleos Imperial Stout
This Imperial Stout from the Greek microbrewery Septem is not a conventional stout, it is a Virgin Oak Barrel Aged Imperial Stout - double trouble and double delicious!
The Imperial Stout is a powerful, aroma-intensive beer in itself. If it is also put into a barrel after completion, the complex layers of flavor virtually explode and create a veritable firework display of warm, intense aromas. Kleo's Imperial Stout is no exception: deep black and packed with interesting flavors, it is a real highlight in the Septem range.
Kleo's Imperial Stout flows into the glass in an opaque, deep black mahogany color and forms a finger's breadth of hazelnut-brown foam. Delightful aromas of whiskey-soaked oak, vanilla, hard, still unripe pear, dark chocolate and plum emerge from the small crown. The 10.3% vol. alcohol is already reflected in the aroma and suggests a warm, velvety beer. The taste test reveals this same smooth, warm mouthfeel, which is supported by the gentle carbonation. Dark chocolate mousse, cognac pears, tangy lemon zest, soft caramel and a hint of licorice meet on the tongue. Septems Kleo is a powerful beer that tastes pleasantly of liqueur and whiskey without being too boozy. The percentages are elegantly integrated into the flavor profile and, if anything, stand out positively.
Kleo's Imperial Stout is an impressive beer, made with great skill and excellent craftsmanship.
