The Simonsig Frans Malan Cape Blend shines a dark red in the glass and exudes the aroma of sweet red and dark berries. The cuvée of Pinotage (58%), Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) and Merlot (15%) is also wonderfully fruity on the palate, with notes of dark cherries, blackcurrants, figs and plums particularly present. The tannins are very fine and silky smooth, giving this elegant and well-balanced red wine a pleasant mouthfeel. The Simonsig Frans Malan Cape Blend matured for 19 months in French oak and is a great accompaniment to dark meat or roast duck breast. But the Simonsig Frans Malan Cape Blend is also a treat on its own.
