More information about Räuberchen Goldspecht
In contrast to the green or great spotted woodpecker, the golden woodpecker is not found in our latitudes. The copper-colored bird has black spots and stripes on its plumage and takes its name from the bright gold on the inside of its wings. Most specimens of its species are found in North and Central America. Like its European relatives, the bird prefers an insect-rich diet and makes its nesting holes in dead wood. Sometimes its nesting sites can also be found in telephone poles and other tall trees. Woodpeckers are extremely modern when it comes to incubating their eggs and feeding their offspring: Both parents are equally involved and the males breed more often than their partners.
The golden woodpecker from the Spessart brewery is also modern: however, its little bird is not a feathered creature with a penchant for ants, but a wonderful festive beer. Thanks to selected malts, this amber-colored beauty brings rich caramel notes to the glass and combines these with gentle roasted aromas, sun-ripened grain and fruity freshness. Delicate notes of orange marmalade and oven-fresh bread as well as hints of green herbs complete the interplay of aromas. A nutty, subtly bitter finish skilfully rounds off the enjoyment of the beer and whets the appetite for the next bottle.
With a mild 5.2% alcohol content, Räuberchen Goldspecht is a light-footed festive beer for the small festivities of everyday life!
