The Spier Creative Block 8 flows into the glass in a dark shade of red. Concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruit, spices and cedar reveal the complexity of the cuvée of Pinotage (37%), Shiraz (19%), Cabernet Sauvignon (17%), Merlot (15%), Malbec (4%), Petit Verdot (4%), Cinsault (3%) and Grenache Noir (1%) on the nose. Notes of red and dark berries, sweet cherries and dried cranberries pamper the palate. Well-balanced and long-lasting in taste, the Spier Creative Block 8 is a pleasure on its own, but spicy dishes with dark meat are also highly recommended with this red wine, which has matured for eighteen months in French oak.
