More information about Spier Farmer Angus Red Blend 2018
The Spier Farmer Angus Organic Red Blend presents itself in a deep ruby red in the glass. On the palate, it unfolds juicy aromas of blackberries and chocolate, accompanied by a lively composition of vanilla, blackcurrant and plum, which fades into a smooth, harmonious finish.
"The different altitudes, orientations, sun exposure and wind conditions in the vineyard combine with the soil to create a unique terroir. This diversity gives the wine complexity, depth and individual character. Only the best barrels were selected for the cuvée of Merlot (53%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (47%) to guarantee the highest quality.
The Spier Farmer Angus Organic Red Blend matured for twelve months in French oak and six months in the bottle. It is ideal with short-roasted fillet of beef or braised beef ribs. The red wine is also an excellent accompaniment to spicy meat dishes or mature cheese.
The Farmer Angus collection is a collaboration between Spier and Angus McIntosh, a passionate advocate of regenerative agriculture. "These organic wines are the delicious culmination of a long-standing partnership with the Spier team to farm in true harmony with nature," says Angus McIntosh, describing the collaboration.
