The Spier First Stone Organic Red sparkles a dark ruby red in the glass and impresses red wine lovers with its multi-layered aroma, which combines fruity notes of dark cherries and blackcurrants with nuances of fennel and cedar. The result is a rich and complex cuvée of Merlot (58%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (42%), which combines concentrated fruit notes with spicy tones in a wonderful and elegant way. The Spier First Stone Organic Red matured for twelve months in French oak and is an excellent accompaniment to a fillet of beef on grilled vegetables. For red wine lovers, the wine, whose grapes come from organic cultivation, will also be a treat on its own. Incidentally, the name First Stone is a reference to the large, old granite blocks that line the banks of the Eerste River. The river flows through the Spier site.
