Abt 12 is a brew from St. Bernardus that regularly outperforms thousands of other beers internationally. The Quadrupel is the flagship of the Belgian brewery and has been brewed according to the same tried-and-tested recipe for more than 75 years. The in-house yeast, which is used for fermentation, adds the finishing touches to this noble drop. The Goldjunge has an impressive 10.0% alcohol content in the glass and always wins over the judges of renowned competitions with its complex taste and dark aroma.
The strong beer flows out of the bottle in an opaque mahogany color and shimmers ruby red when exposed to light. Its head is hazelnut brown in color and has a creamy, velvety consistency. An olfactory bouquet of caramel, prunes, roasted malt and cocoa entices you to drink it. The taste reveals a full body with a powerful sweetness that is interrupted by a pointed bitterness. Silky-soft notes of dates, raisins soaked in rum, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate, brown sugar, roasted grain and crispy pumpernickel envelop the palate with culinary fireworks. The skilled brewers have achieved the perfect balance between sweetness, bitterness and full-bodied maltiness.
If you want to further intensify the powerful taste, this beer can be stored in the bottle for up to four years.
