Extra 4 is a beer that, with an alcohol content of 4.8%, is a low-alcohol brew in the Belgian context. What is a good or even high average elsewhere is considered mild at best in Belgium. The cool blonde makes up for its lack of revolutions (by Belgian standards) with a plus in taste and is the perfect summer beer thanks to its refreshing and light character.
The creation flows into the glass in a rich cloudy grain gold and is crowned with a good amount of white, dense-pored foam. Due to the second fermentation in the bottle, the beer has a sparkling carbonic acid that feeds the head and transports an irresistible aroma to the top. Notes of sun-ripened malt, freshly grated citrus zest, clove, floral hops and white pepper fill the air and invite you to sip. The flavor profile is a subtly balanced composition of light-footed hops and soft grain. Delicate caramel notes and pithy hints meet juicy citrus fruit, warm spices and flowery hops on the palate, which also deliver a moderate bitterness. Overall, Extra 4 is a harmonious beer that quenches thirst and invigorates.
This fine drop can be served as an aperitif before a nice meal or as an accompaniment to it. It goes well with Mediterranean dishes and grilled food.
