More information about Kaffirweisse
TYRELL KAFFIRWEISSE is a strong beer in the classic style of a Berliner Weisse, from sour fermentation. This variation of our Kaiserweiße enters into a symbiosis with a classic ginger beer. The aroma of the Citrus Hystrix leaves support the fruity acidity, while the ginger gives the beer a subtle spiciness. We make our Berliner Weisse with leaves of the Kaffir lime tree and ginger roots. The maturation takes place over weeks in our cellar.
This Tripel Berliner Weiße is brewed according to a process from the 1920s. This is a double fermentation with different cultures of yeast and lactic acid bacteria that work in unison to create a wonderful taste experience of acidity, fruit and malty tones. This beer is aged in the cellar with ginger root and kaffir lime leaves. Over the course of weeks, the subtle flavors pass into the beer, forming a delicate balance of spiciness and effervescence.
The Ginger Citrus Weisse is a beer that can be aged and is still a pleasure to drink years later. Therefore, the brewmaster recommends always buying 2 at once, one for immediate consumption and one for storage.

Since 2020, he has been taking care of the royal class of beers - the matured ones - in his own BrauKunstAtelier. Beer styles that are a pleasure to drink even after years of cool storage. In terms of beer style, brewing process and choice of ingredients, the focus is on bottle aging. Be it through coffee-like roasted malt; be it through the harmonious symbiosis of yeast and lactic...
