More information about Ursel Dark Forest Gin
Ursel Dark Forest Gin is a complex, aromatic gin that combines tart, spicy and fruity flavors. It evokes dark forests, rolling hills and crystal clear streams - 100% organic, 100% vegan.
How does the Ursel Heritage Gin taste?
On the palate, the London Dry Gin displays a distinct, strong juniper tone that is accompanied by fresh citrus and fruit notes. The structure of the gin is multilayered, well-balanced and inspires with an unexpected depth. Everything is reminiscent of where Ursel Dark Forest Gin originated: In a remote forest in Germany. Its finish is correspondingly long and intense.
Botanicals
Ursel Dark Forest Gin features juniper and young spruce shoots, as well as rowan berries and oranges. In addition, there are 14 other botanicals that are perfectly matched to the fresh, woodsy flavor of the London Dry Gin.
How do you drink Ursel Dark Forest Gin?
If you're in the mood for a tasty gin, you can enjoy Ursel Dark Forest Gin neat with a sip of water or with an unflavored tonic water as a gin and tonic. We recommend a dry tonic water like Thomas Henry, FeverTree or Fantimans. Add some ice and a zest of lemon, and you're done!
What is the alcohol content of Ursel Dark Forest Gin?
The alcohol content of Ursel Dark Forest Gin of 47% vol. is chosen so that all the flavors come to the fore. Thanks to distillation by the spirit method, the gin tastes mild and intense at the same time. Unlike maceration, spirit distillation ensures that valuable aromas and essential oils are not masked by undesirable flavors or bitterness.

Ursel Gin
Our Ursel comes from the heart of the Taunus and is certified organic - and regionally anchored. Our high-quality gin has a very special history: it comes from the idyllic little town of Oberursel in the Taunus region and is distilled in our small manufactory according to a top-secret recipe from selected botanicals. We have been producing, bottling and selling our classic Heritage since 2016. In addition to the defining aroma of our lead botanical - hand-picked spruce shoots - regional herbs and fruits lend it its unadulterated forest notes, and so the straightforward and expressive taste experience reflects precisely this wild and pristine nature of the Taunus. Even though the recipe of the Heritage is still the same, a lot has happened in the Ursel family. In the meantime, several siblings have expanded the versatile pallet of our regular product, which are as varied as the Taunus...
