Syrah with its creamy texture lingers in the memory for a long time. The red wine matures for sixteen months in French oak and is a very good choice with hearty dishes, dark meat or pasta. The initials D.W. in the name of the wine stand for Des Weedon, the founder of Uva Mira. The Uva Mira D.W. Syrah is dedicated to him, his wife Denise and their grandson Derrick - who gave the winery its Latin name.
