The Vilafonté Series C is a fascinating interpretation of the iconic cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Merlot (24%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Malbec (10%) and impressively reflects its time and origin. The red wine presents itself with a deep dark, ruby-red core that gently fades into a garnet-red rim.
The aromatic profile delights with an exotic blend of jasmine, artfully interwoven with multi-layered notes of plum, blackberry and cassis. Subtle nuances of dried citrus peel and smoky hints lend the wine additional complexity.
On the palate, the Vilafonté Series C is powerful and dense, but at the same time with a restrained elegance. It envelops the palate with a silky, fine texture and intense, sweet fruit notes, which are harmoniously complemented by a subtle finish of dark chocolate and lead to a long, generous finish.
While the Vilafonté Series C is already impressively balanced in its youth, it will continue to develop and gain in complexity over time. Whether with game, dark meat or savory dishes - the red wine, which matured for 22 months in French oak and of which only 64 barrels were produced, is always a highlight in the wine glass.
