Golden yellow in color, spicy on the nose: With its innovative production, the new Lyonel Barrel Aged Special Edition not only belongs to the avant-garde of the German gin scene, it also adds an additional potpourri of fine aromas to the classic, juniper-accented bouquet.
The reason? A delicately tuned aging in American oak barrels, which gets a distinctive barrel aroma from its strong toast. The nose is dominated by sweet-spicy juniper and a menthol freshness that is unparalleled. In the background, lavender and sweet vanilla aromas alternate for a sophistication that is sure to delight. A subtle note of cinnamon also adds a touch of Christmas. Due to its dry and at the same time complex aroma profile, Lyonel Barrel Aged Special Edition is not only excellent for pure enjoyment, but also cuts a very good figure in innovative gin cocktails.
Original whiskey barrel, produced in the USA by Independant Stave Company (ISC), a subsidiary of World Cooperage. Made from 18-month air-dried American oak (from Ozarks / Missouri). These barrels are toasted with the classic gas toast, the charring. In the standard segment these barrels are equipped with the Char#3 - the Crocodile Toast.
The flavor aromas are typical bourbon notes such as vanilla, toast and nut, paired with sweet smoky aromas. The color release culminates in a great deep golden hue.
