From this Jamaican port city, a rum barrel made its way to Hamburg - for a unique combination with our Hafencity Gin. After months of maturation, you now hold a gin in your hands that is characterized like no other by the freshness of kaffir lime leaves and subtle notes of raisin, caramel and vanilla.
PURE ENJOYMENT
It was originally intended as a one-off special edition to celebrate Hafencity Gin's 2nd birthday. But even we didn't expect such a great result, which is why we will now be storing a barrel every year. Bourbon was first stored in the American oak barrel, then it was shipped to Jamaica to house the best Jamaican rum for 10 years.
We then left the Hafencity Gin to mature for a further 6 months until it achieved a perfect balance of rum and gin. The barrel ageing process has made the gin even rounder and smoother than it already is.
We only get just under 500 bottles from the barrel.
The 20457 Hafencity Gin Barrel Aged "Montego Bay" is best enjoyed neat, e.g. as a digestif.

Spirit of Hafencity
A special gin that fits a special place: Hamburg's Hafencity. That was the idea from which our Hafencity Gin was finally born. Its taste should combine tradition and modernity, Speicherstadt and Hafencity, the wholesale fruit market with its exotic fruits and the harbor as home and place of longing. René Wolf, Hafencity resident, art director and connoisseur, developed the finely balanced character of Hafencity Gin in a year and a half. More than 65 different recipes from over 150 self-produced distillates finally led to the perfect composition. Antonio Fabrizi, operator of Club 20457 in Hafencity, was thrilled. Together we, Fabrizi and Wolf founded Spirit of Hafencity and were able to open the first bottle of 20457 Hafencity Gin in the fall of 2017.
