Zu Plun Gentian is made from the bitter root of the dotted gentian (Gentiana punctata), which is grown on the Alpe di Siusi at an altitude of 2000 meters. After five years of harvesting, the root is processed according to a traditional recipe and mashed with apple to refine the distillate. The apple mash brings fruity notes to the otherwise very bitter spirit, resulting in a balanced taste experience.
