More information about 24x Aecht Schlenkerla Kräusen
Kräusen is a term used in brewing jargon to describe a certain stage of the beer wort When the brew is in the main fermentation stage, the wort forms a dense, bubbly foam known as kräusen The carbon dioxide produced by the fermentation process feeds this foam If you want to stimulate secondary fermentation in a beer that has already been brewed, This process is called kräusening and is done when you want to enrich the flavor of the matured brew with the freshness and effervescence of a freshly brewed beer
The tradition-conscious brewery Schlenkerla from Bamberg naturally also has a Kräusen in its range For its version of the Franconian classic, the matured Helle Schlenkerla Lager is brewed with the popular smoked beer Märzen
The Aecht Schlenkerla Kräusen presents itself in a sunny copper-gold color in the glass and is crowned with a cap of firm, dense-pored foam The smoked beer adds a good load of smoked ham to the olfactory first impression, while the pale beer delivers fine malt notes and a hint of herbs The first taste follows suit and envelops the palate with hearty grain, roasted notes, caramel and herbal hints The rich smoky aroma is skillfully balanced by fresh hops and is much more elegant and subtle than in classic smoked beer
