More information about BRLO Berliner Weisse
Is a Berlin brewery even a Berlin brewery if it doesn't have Berliner Weisse in its range?
Fortunately, we don't have to ask ourselves this question with the Berlin craft beer heroes BRLO, because the fantastic brewers have a Berliner Weisse in their range. The beer, which Napoleon enthusiastically described as the champagne of the north, has long been disfigured with sweet syrups. The craft beer revolution has not only brought excellent new beer styles to the beer world, but has also brought a breath of fresh air to the existing repertoire. Many long-established traditional beers have experienced a true renaissance, including Berliner Weisse.
Nowadays, people no longer drink this crisp little beer with artificial fruit added, but appreciate the refreshing acidity and uniqueness of this beer style.
BRLO's version of an original Berliner Weisse has a pleasant 4.0% alcohol content and a tame 5 IBU. The sour beer has the color of Berlin sunshine and is slightly cloudy. The fine veil of white foam is fleeting and leaves room for the impressive aroma: the delicate nose sniffs rhubarb, lemon, exquisite white wine vinegar and a hint of champagne. The attack reveals a light-footed beer with sparkling carbonic acid and a wonderfully dry finish. Before that, however, the aromas of crisp green apples, freshly harvested gooseberries, ripe raspberries and white grapes delight the palate. A hint of basil and a touch of sea salt give the fruity interplay of aromas a very special kick.
