More information about Cachaça Rio do Engenho Reserva
The Cachaca Rio do Engenho takes us back to the place where the first sugar cane plantations were established in Brazil almost 500 years ago. It is a region of great historical significance and was very important for the establishment of sugar cane in Brazil.
However, with the decline of the economy, the land was abandoned and the farm became a ruin. It was in 2004 when Luis Galletti, who was fed up with the hectic life in São Paulo, decided to buy and restore the farm in order to grow sugar cane again to produce the legendary Rio do Engenho cachaca.
Cachaca Rio do Engenho Reserva is unique: it is the first cachaca to be aged in 4 Brazilian woods - Amburana, Louro-Canela, Itaúba and Bálsamo - which contain the rich diversity of Brazilian barrels. It is not used the traditional blend method of mixing cachaças from different barrels. Instead, Rio do Engenho Reserva is aged for 3 years in barrels made of mix woods, resulting in a natural blending. It has a golden yellow color. Sweet, fruity and spicy aromas. You feel a sweet sensation with a liqueur-like quality and a hint of spice in the mouth.
